The COVID-19 pandemic has presented major challenges to health care systems. Individuals with substance use disorder (SUD) may be particularly vulnerable to COVID-19. Since the pandemic started, over 40 states have reported increases in opioid- and other drug-related overdose and other concerns. In response to the pandemic and help increase access to treatment, the federal government has broadly increased health care access by providing temporary flexibility to ease SUD program requirements and expand options like telemedicine.

This webinar will:

  • Describe the impact of COVID-19 and associated mitigation measures strategies for patients with SUD.
  • Identify regulatory changes and innovations within SUD programs and reimbursement due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
