Alexandria, VA., Aug. 17, 2023 — AMCP (the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy) released the following statement in response to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit’s ruling in Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA) v Glen Mulready, which protected the fundamental purpose of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and Medicare Part D.
“AMCP commends the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit for its ruling in favor of the narrowly tailored challenges to Oklahoma’s Patients’ Right to Pharmacy Choice Act. By strengthening the integrity and vital functions of ERISA and Medicare Part D, which provide essential services to workers and seniors across the United States, the ruling will promote improved patient care.”
