AMCP Foundation Adds New Member to Board of Trustees

Annesha White

San Francisco, April 22, 2016 — The Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of a new member to its Board of Trustees.

Annesha White, PharmD, MS, PhD, is Assistant Professor of Pharmacotherapy and Assistant Dean for Assessment at the University of North Texas System College of Pharmacy in Fort Worth, Texas. Her term as Trustee will begin April 22 at the conclusion of the AMCP Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy Annual Meeting in San Francisco, California.

“We are delighted that Annesha will join this distinguished group,” said Susan A. Cantrell, RPh, CAE, AMCP's Chief Executive Officer and AMCP Foundation Chair. “I look forward to her insights and advice on how we can further the Foundation’s strategic direction and ambitious goals.”

White graduated from Florida A&M University in 2001 with a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree. She also earned a PhD in Health Services Research from the College of Public Health at the University of Florida. Her career includes working with the Florida Medicaid program, the federal Government Accountability Office, and as an Assistant Professor at Mercer University College of Pharmacy.

She joins the 15-member Board of Trustees, which provides guidance to the AMCP Foundation in support of its mission to advance the quality and affordability of our health care system.

AMCP Foundation Executive Director Paula J. Eichenbrenner, CAE, added that the AMCP Foundation is accelerating its efforts as it enters its next 25 years.

“This is an exciting time for our organization,” she said. “The AMCP Foundation has a long history of providing groundbreaking research that informs patient care, as well as grooming the next generation of managed care pharmacy professionals. These efforts are expanding rapidly and we’re happy to have Annesha’s perspective as an educator and an academic.”

The Foundation also would like to recognize the contributions of three Trustees who are concluding their service on the Board: Annette D. Boyer, RPh; Robert DeLuca, RPh; and David Wheeler.

Recent AMCP Foundation programming has included an extensive research project on the U.S. health care system that culminated in a widely cited report, “Ahead of the Curve: Top 10 Emerging Health Care Trends.” The Foundation’s annual symposia have focused on chronic disease prevention and adherence, specialty pharmacy and patient care. Among other activities, the Foundation each year organizes a prestigious National Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) Competition, which draws dozens of teams from schools of pharmacy across the country, and sponsors a series of managed care pharmacy internships.
