AMCP Names Mitzi Wasik Executive Director, AMCP Foundation and SVP, Practice Strategy and Innovation

Alexandria, VA —August 19, 2024—AMCP announced the appointment of Mitzi Wasik, PharmD, MBA, BCPS, FAMCP, FCCP, as Executive Director, AMCP Foundation and SVP, Practice Strategy and Innovation, effective September 30. 

Prior to joining AMCP, Wasik served as Senior Vice President, Service and Quality Management, at Optum Rx, where she provided strategy and insight of industry quality measures and led service management for health plans across multiple lines of business. 

Wasik’s previous roles include VP, Product and Platform Strategy, at SS&C Health and an extended time at Aetna/CVS where her experience included overseeing strategy between the PBMs and the health plans; responsibility for oversight of growth, trend management, and critical business needs; safety and quality oversight; Medicare Stars strategy; and oversight of Medicare programs.

Wasik’s pharmacy background includes experience in academia, retail, hospital, and managed care. She holds a BSPharm and PharmD from Midwestern University-Chicago College of Pharmacy and an MBA from University of Southern Indiana. Wasik received her Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist designation in 2004. A Past President of AMCP, she is also an AMCP Fellow and recipient of the AMCP Distinguished Service Award in 2021.
