Provisions enacted under the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) will change the way the physicians receive Medicare payments by focusing on quality and evidence-based care rather than fee for service. These changes will also impact medication management and expand the potential for pharmacists and nurses to collaborate and engaged with teams of health care providers to optimize medication use. This webinar will focus on the impact of MACRA provisions on health care providers and population medication management by pharmacists, physicians, and nurses. Through this webinar, participants will:

  • Receive an update on the fundamentals of the MACRA law and regulations, including an overview of the Merit-Based Incentive System (MIPs) and alternative payment models.
  • Learn about opportunities for pharmacists and nurses who manage medications to become involved with teams.
  • Explore how the new payment models moving toward value and outcomes may work to improve patient health outcomes and promote wise use of health care sources.
