Position Overview

 

MetroPlusHealth’s Pharmacy Residency Program will assist residents in obtaining well-rounded knowledge of the Managed Care Pharmacist role. The resident will experience a series of core and elective rotations highlighting the different areas of Managed Care Pharmacy. Some core rotations include research-based projects, Quality Assurance, Utilization Management and Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) oversight across all lines of business. Additionally, the resident will learn skills in pharmacy policy development, changes, and implementation. The pharmacy resident will be responsible for improving patient care through various clinical programs, medication reconciliation, counseling, and care management. Through this program, the resident will develop the aptitude needed to be successful in Managed Care Pharmacy.
