Educational/Special Requirements

Candidates must have graduated within the past 5 years with a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from a college of pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) in the United States. A strong interest in HEOR and/or Medical Affairs is preferred. United States citizenship or lawful permanent resident status is required to qualify for the fellowship program. 

Special Features

This 2-year program is structured to allow the fellow to gain proficiency in the fields of HEOR & Medical Affairs and prepare for a career in the pharmaceutical industry, consulting, managed care, or academia. Throughout the 2-year program, the fellow will reside in Pittsburgh, PA and work in close collaboration with the fellowship directors at the University of Pittsburgh campus 3 days per week while working towards the online Master of Science degree remotely 2 days per week. 

During the first year, the fellow will complete coursework to earn an online Master of Science (MS) in PharmacoAnalytics while concurrently supporting multiple HEOR-focused research initiatives at the University of Pittsburgh, in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). During the second year, the fellow will complete 4 rotations at Indivior to gain cross-functional experience in real-world evidence (RWE), Medical Communications, Field Medical Affairs, and an elective rotation of the fellow’s choosing. The fellow will concurrently complete the MS thesis project involving analysis of RWE data related to the treatment of substance use disorders.
