Educational Affairs Committee
Mission
The Educational Affairs Committee assesses, identifies, and recommends current and future educational needs, strategies, innovations, and opportunities for the advancement of managed care pharmacy through quality educational programs consistent with the mission of AMCP.
Responsibilities
- Proactively identify topics and content that support managed care professionals' current and future educational needs.
- Review and provide feedback on session proposal submissions for AMCP’s national meetings.
- Serve as peer reviewers for accredited educational activities developed for AMCP’s national meetings and events.
Qualifications
A strong preference is given to AMCP Active Members whose professional positions and/or experience provide them with insight into current managed care pharmacy practice trends and an extensive contact network that would enable them to recommend potential speakers.
Note: In accordance with the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education’s ACPE Standards of Continuing Pharmacy Education, AMCP limits the number of appointees employed by the pharmaceutical industry.
Composition
The Educational Affairs Committee is composed of up to fifteen (15) Active AMCP Members, including a Chair and Vice Chair.
Term of Appointment
Committee members are appointed for one-year terms. Committee members may be appointed for up to three consecutive one-year terms.
Time Commitment
Committee members are expected to attend all meetings, live and virtual, and attend both AMCP national meetings during their terms of service. The Committee will meet as needed to determine the topics and specific content for each AMCP national meeting. In addition, members are expected to complete project work as assigned.
