Finance Committee
Mission
The Finance Committee is a committee of the Board established by Section 7.4 of the bylaws. The Finance Committee recommends financial policies, goals, and budgets that support AMCP’s mission and strategic priorities and monitors the organization’s financial performance against its objectives.
Responsibilities
- Review the proposed budget for the forthcoming year and submit it to the Board of Directors for approval.
- Review financial performance against budget and forecasts.
- Review and assess the performance of investments and recommend changes to AMCP’s investment policy statement as appropriate.
- Review AMCP’s business insurance coverage periodically to ensure risk is appropriately managed.
Composition
The Finance Committee is composed of seven (7) voting members, including the President, President-Elect, Immediate Past President, Treasurer, who serves as Chair, and three (3) Active members. The AMCP CEO serves as an ex officio non-voting member of the committee.
Qualifications
Appointees must have been an AMCP Active Member for at least two years.
Term of Appointment
The Active Members serve two-year staggered terms.
Time Commitment
Committee members are expected to attend all Finance Committee meetings held at AMCP national meetings, approximately two conference calls, and ad hoc meetings as needed. In addition, members are expected to complete project work as assigned.
