Educational/Special Requirements:
Individuals with a doctoral degree, including Ph.D., Pharm.D., M.D., Dr. P.H., etc. will be eligible for this program. Selection of candidates will be on a competitive basis from a national pool of post-doctoral candidates who have scientific and/or clinical degrees. The candidate should have taken courses in at least some of the following areas: study design, health economics, decision analysis, epidemiology, genomics, biostatistics and probability, psychometrics or have experience in these areas.

Postdoctoral Fellowship in Health Outcomes and Pharmacoeconomic Research The objective of the UCSF, PrO-PEPS (Program for Outcomes, Pharmaceutical Economics and Policy Studies) / Biogen Idec Post-doctoral Fellowship in Health Outcomes and Pharmacoeconomics Research is to provide an individual with a university and industry research experience with selected coursework necessary to independently conduct pharmacoeconomic, outcomes and policy research in a variety of settings. The fellowship program is tailored to the particular needs of each fellow. The two-year program consists of one year of research and selected coursework at UCSF, in San Francisco, CA and a second year of research experience at Biogen Idec in Boston, MA. The first 12-month period is at UCSF under the direction of a UCSF health economics faculty (Dr. Wilson) and focuses about 80% on research and 20% time on course work depending on the individual needs of each fellow. The second year consists of working on collaborative pharmacoeconomic research projects at Biogen Idec in the Global Health Market Access Group. The start date for this fellowship is negotiable.
