Fellows are selected from a national pool of candidates with scientific and/or clinical training in health care (e.g., biomedical engineering, nursing, medicine, public health, epidemiology, health economics, pharmacy) and a stated interest in health economics & outcomes research (HEOR). Preference is given to individuals who have completed graduate work (PharmD, PhD, MS/MA, MPH) in these areas.

Fellows gain valuable outcomes research project experience in an academic setting at Thomas Jefferson University in the first year and in a pharmaceutical industry setting at Teva Pharmaceuticals in the second year. Each fellow designs an individual plan of academic coursework, typically including courses in biostatistics, epidemiology, health economics, and health policy with an option of a master’s degree through Thomas Jefferson University’s Jefferson College of Population Health.
