Format Advisory Committee
Mission
The mission of the Format Committee is to guide the development and updating of the AMCP Format for Formulary Submissions and recommend resources to support its use.
Responsibilities
- Guide AMCP in evaluating and updating the AMCP Format for Formulary Submissions (the AMCP Format) to ensure that it continues to evolve to meet the needs of health care decision-makers, including considerations for all technologies relevant to managed care pharmacy decision-makers.
- Provide recommendations and input for developing related training and educational materials to promote understanding and use of the AMCP Format.
Composition
The Format Advisory Committee is composed of 12 to 15 members, including a Chair and Vice Chair. In addition, up to two non-voting observers may be appointed to the committee to provide subject matter expertise.
Qualifications
Committee members must be Active Members of AMCP and have experience with formulary decision-making or developing submissions using the AMCP Format. In addition, one Associate member with expertise in developing dossiers using the AMCP Format may be included on the committee. Observers are not required to be AMCP members and will be required to complete a Non-Disclosure Agreement and Conflict of Interest form upon selection to the Committee.
Term of Appointment
Committee members are appointed for two-year terms and may serve up to two terms.
Observers serve one-year terms by invitation only. There are no limitations on successive terms for observers. Appointments are based on the individual’s expertise and the committee's needs.
Time Commitment
The commitment time varies based on the committee's work but is typically two to three hours per month. When the AMCP Format is undergoing revision, committee members can be expected to contribute up to five to eight hours per month.
