
Summary of Feb. 26 House Energy & Commerce Health Subcommittee Hearing on PBM Reform
Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) reform remains top of mind for Members of Congress this year. On Feb. 26, the House Energy & Commerce Health Subcommittee held a hearing titled: "An Examination of How Reining in PBMs Will Drive Competition and Lower Costs for Patients.“ Witnesses included an independent pharmacist, representatives from health care purchaser associations, consumer health advocacy organizations, and think tanks. AMCP developed a video summary of the hearing, which touched on PBM reform proposals including Part D delinking, bans on spread pricing in Medicaid, and increased transparency into PBM business practices.
