You can find Managed Care Pharmacists in a wide variety of settings. In this video series, AMCP members share their experiences and insights from different settings to lend insight into the world of managed care pharmacy.  

Employment Setting: Health Plans 

Health Plans provide coverage of health services to plan members in exchange for premiums. Services covered may include medical, pharmacy, dental, vision, and/or chiropractic benefits, to private and public purchasers. Managed Care pharmacists typically work on the pharmacy benefit side but can also be found in many areas within the health plan.
 

Opportunities are endless with a health plan setting. You have the opportunity to use your clinical background as well as learn about regulatory and quality initiatives.
