Special Features

This internship program aims to cultivate future leaders who aspire to excel in the health care industry. The program provides promising student pharmacists with extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in population health concepts, including formulary management, medication therapy management, benefit design, and adherence management. Throughout the internship, interns will work closely with pharmacists and other health care professionals to better understand how managed care pharmacy principles are used to maximize health care resources and patient outcomes. Moreover, this internship is meticulously designed to foster the development of vital skills such as research, leadership, career opportunities, and industry knowledge.

Interns gain exposure to the pharmaceutical industry through Pfizer Payer Accounts Medical Leads, a membership society (AMCP), and a public charity (AMCP Foundation). As a part of the structured ten-week internship program, student pharmacists will be matched with virtual preceptors and present capstone research projects at AMCP Nexus. This ensures a comprehensive program experience.
