Managed Care Pharmacy Residency Director/Residency Preceptor Award
DESCRIPTION:
The AMCP Residency Director/Residency Preceptor Award was established in 2017 to recognize an AMCP member making a significant contribution to managed care pharmacy by being a managed care residency program director or preceptor.
Note: For recognition of those who are preceptors for Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) and/or Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) rotation as required by pharmacy school curriculum see AMCP Experiential Education Preceptor Award.
CRITERIA:
An AMCP member who has served as a residency director or preceptor for a PGY1 managed care pharmacy residency program.
NOMINATION PROCESS:
Nominations can be made by an AMCP member or staff person, a current resident pharmacist or anyone who is knowledgeable about the nominee’s service as a Managed Care Residency program director or residency preceptor. Each nomination must include a nomination form, and a maximum 500 word statement that describes the nominee’s service as a residency director or preceptor and how it has contributed to advancing managed care pharmacy. Self-nominations are not permitted.
SELECTION PROCESS:
The recipient is selected by a selection committee composed of members of the AMCP Schools of Pharmacy Relations Committee. The recipient of this award is not eligible to be selected as the recipient of the AMCP Experiential Education Preceptor Award in the same year. The recipient is selected based on the information included in the nomination.
NATURE OF AWARD:
The AMCP Residency Director/Preceptor Award is presented at the spring meeting. The recipient receives a plaque, complimentary registration to the AMCP Annual Meeting, travel reimbursement (up to $1,000), and a $500 contribution to a School/College of Pharmacy of the recipient’s choice. In addition, residency programs with award recipients will receive acknowledgment at the AMCP Nexus Residency Showcase.
