Diplomat of the Year Award

DESCRIPTION:
The AMCP Diplomat of the Year Award was established in 2019 to recognize an individual responsible for significant activity in assisting a school/college of pharmacy with its efforts to increase knowledge about managed care pharmacy and visibility into the managed care pharmacy field.

CRITERIA: 
The nominee(s) is an AMCP Diplomat, responsible for significant involvement and mentorship with a school/college of pharmacy’s students interested in managed care pharmacy or AMCP student pharmacist chapter. Examples include, but are not limited to, an AMCP member raising faculty awareness of AMCP and managed care pharmacy; an AMCP member exposing student pharmacists to career opportunities in managed care pharmacy; an AMCP member enhancing communication between the schools/colleges of pharmacy and local AMCP members; an AMCP member who develops, educates and fosters schools/colleges of pharmacy into a positive relationship with AMCP at the local level; an AMCP member assisting student pharmacists with planning events that encourage expanding managed care pharmacy knowledge; or an AMCP member who provides leadership and creativity in growing membership that enhances the overall advocacy of the organization.

NOMINATION PROCESS:
Nominations may be made by an AMCP member or staff person. Each nomination must include a nomination form and a 500‐word statement that describes the contribution deemed worthy of recognition. Self-nominations are not permitted.

SELECTION PROCESS:
The recipient(s) are selected by the AMCP School of Pharmacy Relations Committee. The recipient is selected based on the information included in the nomination. 

NATURE OF AWARD:
The AMCP Diplomat of the Year Award is presented at the spring meeting. The recipient receives a plaque, complimentary registration to the AMCP Annual Meeting, travel reimbursement (up to $1,000), and a $500 contribution to a School/College of Pharmacy of the recipient’s choice.
