We do not send a recruitment letter to schools outside of Colorado as these students would not be able to work throughout the school year.

Kaiser Permanente Colorado: The Pharmacy Internship program is a long-term opportunity directed at training current pharmacy interns to become competent, professional, and reliable pharmacists in our communities. This internship begins in the first year of pharmacy school and ends after graduation from the PharmD program. Interns work all 12 months of the year for the full 4 years and are employees of Kaiser Permanente Colorado. Interns at nearby schools of pharmacy will receive a recruitment email when positions become available. Kaiser Permanente Colorado has 29 clinics and 37 pharmacies in the Denver/Boulder, northern, and southern Colorado regions. Purpose:
  • Intern Responsibilities: To provide pharmacy students with educational and practical experiences in multiple pharmacy settings including outpatient, compounding, oncology, and clinical services.
  • Current interns are encouraged to apply for the Clinical Intern Program that takes place during their third year of pharmacy school. This program allows the intern opportunities to work in clinical areas such as cardiology, primary care, call centers, anticoagulation clinics, or research.
  • Interns are expected to attend learning modules each summer during the internship to learn about various pharmacy settings, interview techniques, resumes/CVs, and much more.
  • Interns are given many opportunities to experience pharmacy in a new way that may set them apart from the competition.
  • Interns are expected to work shifts in the outpatient pharmacies as needed throughout the year (not just during school breaks).
  • Interns are encouraged to take advantage of opportunities available at Kaiser Permanente Colorado to improve knowledge, networking, and time-management skills.
  • Interns will demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
  • Interns will be self- motivated, self-directed, and a proactive workforce member.
  • Interns will demonstrate effective/professional communication and counseling skills.
