AMCP Awards

AMCP confers awards to recognize members and non-members who have made significant contributions to the profession of managed care pharmacy and to AMCP. Award recipients are publicly recognized at the AMCP Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy Annual Meeting 2017. 

Distinguished Service Award - This award recognizes an AMCP member who has made exceptional and sustained contributions to AMCP over at least a five year period. The 2016 winner was Jim Carlson.

Fellow (FAMCP) Program - The Fellows program was established to acknowledge sustained excellence in the pharmacy profession, grant recognition for exceptional contributions, long term commitment and active participation in the Academy. The 2016 winners were Douglas Burgoyne, Patrick Gleason and Laurie Wesolowicz.

Grassroots Advocacy Award - This award recognizes an individual or group responsible for significant activity around a grassroots cause. The 2016 winner was Kenneth J. Bykowski.

Individual Contribution Award - This award recognizes an AMCP member making a significant contribution to the Academy by any means other than service as an AMCP Committee member over the past year. The 2016 winner was Elizabeth Brusig.

JMCP Award for Excellence - This award recognizes an article published in JMCP in each calendar year that represents the best scholarly work in managed care pharmacy. The award presented in 2016 went to "Improving the Efficiency and Quality of the Value Assessment Process for Companion Diagnostic Tests: The Companion Test Assessment Tool (CAT)" Authors: William J. Canestaro, Louis P. Garrison, David L. Veenstra, Daryl E. Pritchard, Robert Dubois

Preceptor Award - This award recognizes an AMCP member making a significant contribution to managed care pharmacy by being a preceptor to student pharmacists for Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPE) and/or Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPE) focused in managed care pharmacy. The 2016 winner was Katie Neff-Golub.

New Practitioner Award - This award recognizes an AMCP member making a significant contribution to managed care pharmacy within five years of graduation from first professional degree in pharmacy, medicine or nursing. The 2016 winner was Abigail Stoddard.

Spirit of Volunteerism Award - This award recognizes a current AMCP Committee Member who has demonstrated exemplary and outstanding service to AMCP over the past year; and, has provided volunteer activities that resulted in successful and/or high quality AMCP program, projects or services for its members. The 2016 winner was Sherry Andes.
